As a service project, Mrs. Collins’ advisory collected pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a comforting, home-like place for families with children receiving medical care at nearby hospitals. By saving pop tabs, our students helped raise funds through recycling that directly support these programs and keep the Houses running for families in need.
Thank you to all students and families who donated—and a special thank you to the Sponenburg family for contributing to and delivering our collection to RMHC of Eastern Wisconsin!

4K families had a wonderful time at their Camp Out to Reading event! Families gathered together for an evening filled with cozy stories, warm s’mores, and joyful campfire songs. Students snuggled up with their loved ones to listen to favorite books and explore new ones, creating a love of reading in a fun and inviting setting. Everyone enjoyed s'mores, singing classic camp songs, and spending quality time together as a school community. Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the night so special!

On Monday night, several 3rd grade students presented at the board meeting about their first reading and writing unit of the year that focused on fictional narratives. As part of this work, students completed a Magic Tree House study in which they compared and contrasted two books and analyzed the recurring plot structures within the series. The unit concluded in a creative writing project where students authored their own Magic Tree House-inspired stories. Throughout the process, they engaged in each stage of the writing process—brainstorming, drafting, editing, revising, and ultimately publishing their final pieces. Way to make us #MustangProud 3rd graders!

BES After School Adventure Club with our Running Club has been a blast where students participated in fun running games and short runs designed just for young Mustangs. The focus is on effort, encouragement, and FUN — not competition. Students have been learning about being good teammates and celebrating progress! Way to make us #MustangProud!

Today, the Genoa City Joint 2 School District proudly honored our nation’s heroes during our annual Veterans Day Program. We are so grateful to all the veterans, families, and community members who joined us to celebrate and pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
A heartfelt thank you to our students and staff for their thoughtful performances and efforts in making this event so meaningful. Your dedication helped us show what it truly means to honor and remember.

Our favorite “Fancy Gas Station” is supporting Genoa City Schools in a BIG WAY! They are running another generous “PUMP PRIDE” campaign during November! That means that a portion of sales made at pumps 11 & 12 throughout the month at the Genoa City Travel Center will be donated back to the Brookwood students! Coordinated by area realtor and community member, Erin Weber, this fundraiser directly benefits the students through field trips, programming, learning opportunities, and more!
