It's time again to sign up for our Community Garden! If you are interested in providing produce to our local food pantry, for your own table, and to learn more about veg gardening, please join us! Our communal Community Garden is located behind BMS and serves as a teaching garden as well as a way to educate about agricultural science and raising awareness of pollinators, providing produce and flowers to our community, both at school and out of school. Anyone is welcome. Give a week of your time to help water and weed, spread mulch, and help out, and you are welcome to harvest what you need all summer. Just fill out the form and/or contact me with questions. I can be reached until June 8th at my school email and then at mekanthack3@gmail.com

This past week, BES enjoyed a beautiful day at their all-school field trip to Green Meadows Petting Farm!
It looks like the nearly 500 photos our staff captured throughout the day are making social media a little unhappy, as it won’t allow us to upload them all on any of the platforms. Please click the link below to view and enjoy all the pictures our staff took on the field trip to share with you!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to chaperone, and a special thank you to our amazing staff for making this end-of-the-year field trip such a fun and memorable experience for our students!

3rd Grade Kindness Squad students voted to end their year with doing community service hours at the Lakeland Animal Shelter. They will be taking in all the donations from the animal shelter donation drive going on now and helping shelter workers with cleaning the cat rooms and other jobs that help all animals on May 26th.

In Guidance Class, 4K students are learning about careers. Last week, after they learned all about construction workers and tools construction workers use, they got to create their own houses.

Greetings, Brookwood Families!
We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2025-2026 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school!
The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and hassle-free bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days!
The end of the school year is fast approaching, and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program.
If you are in need of another form for Brookwood Bundles or Families in Need, the forms are available at both front offices.
Thank you for your continued support in our schools!

BES lost & found is growing. Do you see anything that is your child’s? 👀

BES Kindness Squad is preparing for their final community service activity of the year, and they are asking for your help! This month, Kindness Squad will be heading to Lakeland Animal Shelter to help with spring cleaning in the cat rooms and assist in caring for the hundreds of cats, kittens, puppies, and dogs waiting for their forever homes. Our students are also hoping to collect supplies to bring along to support the shelter staff and help care for the homeless animals. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference for these animals in need!
Thank you for helping our students continue spreading kindness throughout the community!

💙 Our BES Kindness Squad worked hard to make sure our teachers and staff knew just how loved and appreciated they are!
Kindness Squad students created thoughtful appreciation cards for teachers and did a fantastic job planning and putting together a breakfast buffet for staff. The students also came up with the idea to hold a special teacher raffle, offering their own services as prizes, including teacher assistant, supply squad, clean-up crew, and classroom organizers!
During breakfast, students had the honor of drawing the winning teachers’ names. It was such a fun and meaningful way to celebrate our amazing staff!
A huge thank you to all of the Kindness Squad families who donated breakfast items and helped make this event possible. Your generosity and support are so appreciated! 💙

With this week’s teacher appreciation theme being Survivor, did you guess which staff member picked to be on team blue or team white….
We always have families asking how they can give back and help our schools. Sharing our greatness with others is one of the best ways, but another way to help give back is by being a part of our PTO. Whether it’s through donating supplies and/or snacks, or giving up a few minutes to make a flier, share a post, or even giving some time at an event…. It’s all supporting our schools! Contact Brookwood PTO for more information! Thank you, PTO, for an amazing week of appreciation for our staff!
Thank you to our community members, businesses, groups, and families for your generosity this past week while we celebrated our staff for staff appreciation week. We are so so so thankful for your support….not just this week, but all the time.
We also wanted to give an additional huge shout out and thank you to our staff…a staff that goes above and beyond for ALL of our students. To the best of the best…thank YOU! We appreciate you not just this week…but all the time!!

This week students had a blast during our Literacy Night! Our amazing Genoa City Public Library children’s librarian joined us to read several engaging stories to families. Students received a passport to “Read Around Brookwood” and traveled from classroom to classroom enjoying themed reading activities and yummy snacks along the way. Families had so much fun reading together and exploring all the different book-themed rooms!
Students were also excited to choose free books to take home and add to their own personal libraries. To top off the evening, students entered raffle tickets for a chance to win a handmade basket full of goodies from author Jenna Schroeder. We are thrilled that she will be visiting our school (sponsored by Brookwood PTO) on Monday along with her book Taco, Goat, Cat, Cheese, Pizza!!

Thank you Brookwood families for supporting our first ever McTeacher's Night this week. We were able to raise nearly $900 for our schools! It was an awesome experience and we are very thankful to the McDonald's team in Richmond for their support. Be on the lookout for our next one later this summer!
