Genoa City Schools: Families in Need – Winter Clothing Program

The Genoa City Schools Families in Need Program is here to support families within our school district
who may be struggling to meet the immediate needs of their children. We are again focusing on ensuring
every child has the essential winter clothing they need to stay warm and comfortable.

For Families in Need – Sign Up for Essentials
If your child needs assistance this winter season, you can sign up to receive essential winter-weather
clothing such as pants, shirts, socks, mittens, and winter hats. Our goal is to make sure every child is
prepared for the colder months ahead.
https://forms.gle/WFvShixF48svxMx16

Families & Community Members: Help a Child or Children in Need
You can make a meaningful difference by sponsoring a child or children through our Winter Clothing
Program. Those who can participate will sign up to purchase clothing and essential items to help keep our
students warm, comfortable, and supported throughout the winter.
https://forms.gle/oD23ne5CqiVGCoTk8

Unable to Purchase Items? You Can Still Help!
If you are unable to purchase items for a child, monetary donations are welcome throughout the year.
These contributions allow our team to purchase essential clothing and other necessities for children in
need, both through this winter initiative and throughout the school year. Donations can be dropped off to
either school’s front office or mailed to Genoa City Joint 2 School District // P.O. Box 250 // Genoa City, WI
53128. Checks should be made payable to: Genoa City Joint 2 School District, memo: families in need -
Helen Xiong.

Every donation, no matter the amount or item, makes a difference and helps ensure our students have
the essentials they need to stay warm and feel supported. Thank you for helping us bring warmth,
comfort, and joy to our students and families this holiday season!

For more information, please contact Helen Xiong directly.

Thank you for your continued support for our schools and students,

November's Pump Pride at Mobil's Genoa City Travel Center

Our favorite "Fancy Gas Station" is supporting Genoa City Schools in a BIG WAY! They are running another generous "Pump Pride" campaign during November!

During the entire month of November, a portion of all sales from gas pumps 11 & 12 will be donated to GCJ2 to directly impact Brookwood students! Coordinated by area realtor and community member Erin Weber, this fundraiser benefits the students through field trips, programming, learning opportunities, and more! Please take a moment to fuel up at the Genoa City Mobil and support local business and your community schools!

Thank you, Genoa City Travel Center, Erin Weber, and our wonderful community for continuing to fuel our students' success!

Thank you to all the Brookwood families who came out to support us during our new BES costume parade tradition Mr. Ringsby tried to get started here at BES! Aside from a minor bump or two, our students and staff had a wonderful time celebrating together, and they loved seeing all of you. While we found a few areas to improve for next time, it was a fantastic first run. We truly appreciate you coming out today and showing your love and support. Wishing you all a great rest of your week—Go Mustangs! Thank you to Chief Bappert for being with us as well!!

Congratulations to all of our BES Be Brookwood winners!

Each month, BES celebrates students and classrooms who go above and beyond to show what it means to Be Brookwood! Our staff members nominate students by giving out Brookwood tickets when they see them demonstrating one of our core expectations: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Responsible.

Each classroom has one student selected as a Be Brookwood winner of the month. Students then get to pick a meaningful prize and experience with a staff member at school.

We are so proud of these students and this class for making Brookwood a kinder, safer, and more responsible place to learn and grow.

Keep showing us what it means to Be Brookwood! #MustangProud

BMS families have seen her around for the past few weeks, and we can finally share the exciting news here! At last night’s GCJ2 School Board Meeting, Wendy Funari was officially approved as our BMS Administrative Assistant!

Please join us in welcoming Wendy to her new role! We’re excited to have her as part of the BMS team!

Welcome to Brookwood! Wendy Funari - BMS Administrative Assistant

Wendy was already a member of our Mustang Family and a familiar face at Brookwood even before she started working at the middle school as the building administrative assistant. Her son, Dominic, 11, is in 5th grade here, and his 3 older siblings all went through Brookwood, also: Tessa, 22; Leigha, 21, and Reno, 19. Wendy also has a 3-year-old granddaughter who attends Brookwood.

Wendy was born and raised in Johnsburg, Illinois, and moved to Genoa City about 14 years ago. She and Dominic have 2 dogs, Charlie (chocolate lab), and Burt (a 3-legged Morkie).
When Wendy has a free minute, she loves to indulge in yoga. Overall, she loves her family time most of all, and it fills her heart when all the kids come together to Dominic's athletic events whenever they can.

BES BE BROOKWOOD CLASSROOM

Classrooms at BES can earn Be Brookwood tickets when they demonstrate what it means to Be Brookwood by being kind, safe, and responsible throughout the school day. Tickets can be earned from any staff member who notices classrooms making great choices TOGETHER!

Each month, one classroom is randomly selected as the Be Brookwood Classroom Winner of the Month. The winning class earns the honor of keeping the Mustang Trophy in their classroom for the entire month as a reminder of their positive behavior, teamwork, and school pride.

Keep up the amazing work, Brookwood!

Way to go, Mrs. Cassaday's Class! We are so #MustangProud of you!!!
