Yesterday, we celebrated our 100th day of school, and man....was it back-breaking! Due to the exhausting day of hard work at a fragile age....to all the 100 days activities at both buildlings and "6-7" juggling at the middle school.....bring on the rest of the school year!!

In speech and language therapy at BES (5K-3rd), students and Mrs. Soto have been playing collaborative board games together across all sessions. They reached 67 wins in honor of the new popular “6–7” theme — and every win was earned through hard work on IEP goals first, then a game turn as a reward. They recently took time to celebrate that achievement as a collective team! Way to make us #MustangProud!!

Sharing YOUR Greatness!
We ask our Brookwood families to share with us what our Brookwood students and staff are doing outside of school so we can share in your greatness and how #MustangProud we are of your accomplishments!! If you have something to share....email it to Mrs. Xiong at Helen.Xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us
A huge shoutout to Wyatt, Logan, Joey, Liam, Ryan, and Lucas — a group of BES Brookwood boys that came together to make a basketball team for the RecPlex Recreational 3 on 3 Basketball Program.
These boys showed up ready to learn, ready to hustle, and most importantly — ready to have fun.
Throughout the season, they grew so much as players and teammates. From improving their dribbling and passing to learning how to run plays and work together on defense, their progress was incredible to watch.
They worked hard at every practice, played hard in every game, and cheered each other on every step of the way. Win or lose, they brought energy, sportsmanship, and big smiles to the court.
Most of all, they built friendships, confidence, and a true love for the game. What a fantastic season of teamwork, growth, and fun! Way to go, boys! Way to make us #MustangProud!!
Have something to submit? Email it to helen.xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us so we can share your greatness!!

Badger High School is excited to share some great news and celebrate several talented students! We have recently received news from the Milwaukee Art Museum that we have 4 Gold Key Winners! In past years, we have typically been lucky to have 1 piece selected for this annual show, but this year we have 4 Golden Key award pieces being exhibited at MAM! …
Alyssa Adams: Gold Key, "The Hangout"
…
Each "Gold Key" recognition will be considered for National Awards and scholarships! The "Gold Key" awarded artwork will be on public display. The Scholastic Art Awards: Wisconsin Exhibition at The Milwaukee Art Museum from January 31 through March 15, 2025. Additionally, ….Alyssa…will be honored at MAM's Awards Day.

The room was full of energy as the second graders gave their bug presentations to wrap up their reading unit. It was great to see them showing off the projects they made and sharing everything they learned. Between the Google Slides presentation, bug models, and the cute bug songs, it was a fun way to celebrate all their hard work and see how much they’ve grown. Thank you to all the families that were able to come and see their presentations!

This past Friday, the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra (LGSO) performed at Brookwood Elementary School for the Kindergarten through fifth graders.
For over 25 years, the LGSO has travelled to schools in Walworth County through a grant with the Walworth County Arts Council. This educational initiative brings live symphonic music to the children. The performance included a mix of music that was new - such as "The Neighborhood", which was composed for this concert by Erin Mays, a symphony member, as well as music they were already familiar with - Moana, and patriotic music. One of the highlights was when the students got to walk through the orchestra as they played their finale, Pirates of the Caribbean. The students were an attentive audience, with many of them singing along to the songs they knew.

Our third graders are hard at work building their multiplication fluency—and they’re having a blast doing it! Students take fluency tests one number at a time, mastering each set of facts as they go. Every time they pass a number, they earn a colorful gumball to glue onto their very own gumball machine, showing off their progress in a fun and visual way.
The excitement keeps growing as the machines fill up, and there’s a sweet goal at the end: when students pass their times 12, they earn a whole pack of gumballs to chew on and celebrate their success! This hands-on, motivating system is helping students build confidence, speed, and accuracy with their multiplication facts—and they’re so proud of how far they’ve come.
Way to make us #MustangProud, third graders!
