4K Outreach Day! No regular 4K programming -- 3/19
RSVPs to your 4K Teacher!

No School: March 24-28 -- Spring Break
March 31 -- Welcome Back to School!

The second graders at BES will be traveling to the Lake Geneva YMCA for five Monday afternoons in April and May starting April 14 until May 19. They will be in the water learning valuable swimming skills like Swim, Float, Swim; Jump, Push, Turn, Grab; and Moving Bobs to Safety. They will also learn water safety skills both in and out of the pool. Everyone in the second grade is able to do this free of charge thanks to the YMCA.
The Geneva Lakes YMCA Aquatics Dept., is ALWAYS thinking about water safety because they are very passionate about teaching kids to swim and be safe around water to help prevent drowning. In our communities, there are so many lakes & pools that this is a necessary skill for our kids to be learning.
We are joining over 1500 kids and 13 schools in Walworth County and beyond that have already come to the YMCA to learn these much-needed life skills.

March 10 = MAR10 = MARIO!
Students at BES had the opportunity to participate in a Mario themed scavenger hunt in honor of Mario Day. When students found a photo they turn it into the office in exchange for a star prize! It was a SUPER day!

This week in guidance class, 3rd graders learned about the importance of T.H.I.N.K before you speak. Students discovered how powerful their words are - words can be helpful, supportive and encouraging, but words can also be hurtful. Students then took turns stating something hurtful someone said to them or something hurtful they have heard, each time squeezing some toothpaste out. Students quickly found out that once those words (toothpaste) were spoken (squeezed out of the tube) it got messy and there was no way to take it back (put it back in the tube).
