Mustangs! We are SO excited to announce that the free breakfast and lunch program has been extended through next school year!! This is due to a waiver received by our Food Service Provider, Lake Geneva Food Service. Lake Geneva Food Service will also be running a summer meal pick up program--pick up locations will be announced at a later date. Also, the Lake Geneva Food Service will be sending out letters in regards to current lunch balances that were negative prior to the start of the waivers for our food programming started. We understand that paying these balances may be an impossibility due to the economic challenges created by the pandemic but wanted to make sure to let you know these letters will be being sent home. If you have additional questions, please contact Donna Ecklund Donna.Ecklund@badger.k12.wi.us

The Brookwood Family Organization is excited to announce our end of the year reading competition! This will be an individual competition by grade level. It is all based on the number of minutes read by not only the student but their family members, neighbors, friends outside of our school district, and even distant relatives! We want ALL our students to develop a love of reading for pleasure, for knowledge, and for adventure. We are hoping that this challenge will help to support each student’s personal reading development goal. Check out the video from Talya from the BFO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iXFqdGYPQI Reading competition rules: https://tinyurl.com/4yfattn8 Reading competition log: https://tinyurl.com/45ry44dp

April was School Library Month, and we celebrated a couple of ways here at Brookwood: with library-themed jokes on Friday announcements, and with a bookmark decorating contest! Bookmarks had to be related to reading or books in some way. We had over 60 entries between the two schools, and here are our winners. Thank you to all of our artists who submitted a bookmark and everybody else for voting for your favorites! Happy reading, Mustangs!" Photo captions: Reading On A Rainbow - Winter, 1st grade Bee!
