First-grade BES scientists hatched chicks for 4H students to raise and show at the fair. The entire school entered a raffle to see who could pick when the first chick “pipped”, cracked a breathing hole in the shell. Congratulations to Ashlyn for choosing the closest date and time!
To make things even more fun, Mr. Braden brought Saxony and Pekin ducklings for all of the students to meet! They swam and entertained 4K through 3rd grade.

We learned a lot today during seventh grade demonstrations: how to tie-dye, Jamie jewelry, how to make pudding, how to make a yogurt parfait, and how to wrap a present were the demonstrations today.

Over the past month, 7th grade students have been learning about various body systems and how they work together. Our final lab was a frog dissection. This hands-on learning enabled students to see how all the various systems connect up with one another and allowed us to compare and contrast the organ systems of a frog to a human. Students who opted out of the dissection were given a paper option, where they colored and constructed a paper version of a frog’s internal anatomy. This provided them with a similar experience within their comfort level. We learned so much!

Because it is a school wide event, we are in need of parent volunteers to help run the exciting field day stations that our students will rotate through. We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2022-2023 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school!
The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and easy-to-use bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days!
The end of the school year is fast approaching and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program. Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to Myles, a current 8th grader at BMS.
Myles received a Superior rating on his classical guitar solo at the WSMA State Solo and Ensemble festival at UW-Parkside on Saturday. It was a phenomenal performance. Congratulations , Myles! We are so proud of you!!
