A strong Home-School partnership is essential to your student's success. Educational research abundantly shows that strong collaboration leads to improved student achievement, better behavior, better attendance, higher self-concept and more positive attitudes toward school and learning. That being said, we would like to invite you all to attend our first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences at your child's school for the evenings of October 27th and 28th. Please sign up for a conference slot by October 20th. Teachers will be contacting families who have not signed up by this date to choose from a remaining time slot. Conferences can be scheduled to be face to face, virtual, or over the phone -- please be aware of the times and dates that are available for all of your child’s teacher(s) you wish to see. Upon selecting a time slot, you will be prompted to leave a public comment stating whether you are signing up for a face to face, virtual, or phone conference. If you sign up for a virtual meeting, your teacher(s) will be reaching out to you with the meeting link. Please click on the links below to access the sign up pages. Third grade parents, ask your students about Michael Jordan or Walt Disney. Kindergarten parents, ask your child about Gerald the Giraffe and what he couldn't do YET. 2nd grade parents, ask your child about the ways they can make their brain grow. 1st grade parents, your students will be learning about the value of mistakes this week help us help them by asking them if they notice mistakes that you might make and how you learn from it.

6th graders used recess time to work to rewrite the Be Brookwood behavioral expectations for the middle school. Working collaboratively in small groups, each group honed in on one area of the school to draft expectations for. The next day, they hung them up and did a galley walk to view each others' work, and to add to the expectations. Next, they'll work to summarize the expectations into short, positively written phrases and transport them into digital posters. The last step will be to help inform the rest of the school of the expectations. Who says you have to be the OLDEST to lead? Not these 6th graders!
