This spring the Environmental Education Foundation awarded Brookwood with a grant for $1000 to be used for the school forest and other environmental education programming. Lucas, Avery, and Nolan (members of the Green Schools Club) were there to accept the check and thank the board members for helping the programs in the district. In addition to the grant, Mrs. Freytag is also donating a compost bin to be used for lunch waste. We are grateful for their continued support and look forward to future experiences.

Brookwood Families, We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2024-2025 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school! Forms for this program have been given to students to bring home. If you are in need of another copy, please contact your child’s front office to get another set. The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and hassle-free bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days! The end of the school year is fast approaching and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program. Thank you for your support! *If you are in need of assistance for your child’s Brookwood Bundle, here is more information in regards to support: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2NGwcVOIG-2dt70GQRWl8KC_kkg3DrO/view?usp=sharing

We are SO excited to announce that all 4K-7th graders will be going home with summer school booklets today!! Classes are FREE for all students enrolled at Brookwood. ALL classes will be held at the middle school this summer. Students are registered on a first "received" basis -- due to popular demand and limited class sizes -- we enroll students as forms are turned into the offices. Forms should be turned into your child's homeroom teacher with the building they attend so they can get them submitted to the office in a timely and orderly fashion. Way to make us #MustangProud, Lucas!! Lucas is the first student at BES to reach 200 reading steps with our monthly reading logs through our reading curriculum. Those 200 steps equal 50 hours of reading! Wow! Way to go Lucas and all those families helping their children grow in literacy by reading at home.

Last week, our 4K students and their VIPs enjoyed exploring messy science projects like slime and oobleck at our family outreach night. They explored chemical reactions, solids and liquids, and sink/float. It was such a messy but fun night for all!

#BrookwoodFamily #GCJ2Alumni Once you are part of the Brookwood Family....you're always a part of the Brookwood Family. We love seeing our GCJ2Alumni featured as they continue to Grow into their Greatness in High School.
Brookwood Alumni John Nousaine (currently a senior at Badger) and Kaylub Kosior (currently a junior) competed at the Technicians of Tomorrow event at the Milwaukee Auto Show. This competition pits the top high school automotive technology students against one another in a written and hands on skills competition. The best of the best high school students compete for prizes including tools and technical college scholarships. Eight high schools from SE Wisconsin qualified for the competition with two students representing each school. John and Kaylub placed 4th for Badger, taking home scholarships and tools for both the students and for the automotive program at Badger High School. Way to make us #MustangProud! Did you know that we have a Brookwood Alumni Outreach Program? The first outreach email is coming out soon...so sign up today to be a part of this if you are a Brookwood Alumni! Being a Brookwood Alumni is an aspect of being a Mustang that will forever bond you to the Brookwood Family. We ask that all of our Brookwood Alumni fill out the following form to be included in various emails during the school year that will include school and community events and special messages for our alumni from the Genoa City Joint 2 School District. We are excited that you are interested in being a part of our Alumni Outreach Program and if you have additional questions about it, please reach out to Helen Xiong at Helen.Xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us Sign up today: https://tinyurl.com/ht4hj2zd
