Thank you to our Brookwood PTO for putting together the BMS Assembly last Friday for our middle schoolers with Matt Wilhelm! Our students had a blast!!

This spring the Environmental Education Foundation awarded Brookwood with a grant for $1000 to be used for the school forest and other environmental education programming. Lucas, Avery, and Nolan (members of the Green Schools Club) were there to accept the check and thank the board members for helping the programs in the district. In addition to the grant, Mrs. Freytag is also donating a compost bin to be used for lunch waste. We are grateful for their continued support and look forward to future experiences.

BMS Community Garden Interest Sign Up
Sign up on this form for this great community opportunity located at BMS! Signing up for a week entitles you to a summer of harvesting whatever is ready to be picked and what you can use for your table. There is plenty! Many hands make light work and it will be necessary to weed and water the garden at least 3 times a week.
Please check what month and week works best for you. Weeks run from Sunday to Saturday. We will be holding an informational meeting on May 14th at 5 to discuss what has already been planned and planted as well as what needs to be planted. Please sign up for two weeks so we can give you the best option of a week you want.

The student council Spring Fun Night was a hit! Fourth and fifth graders had a blast playing tag games, chasing each other, doing the limbo and even participating in a friendly version of dodge ball. Students could also make sun catchers thanks to PTO, or pine cone bird feeders.
The older students enjoyed their own version of fun. The DJ played their favorite songs so they danced the night away! Others enjoyed Giant Jenga and board games with their friends.
Student Council is finishing up their pop tab collection this week for the Ronald McDonald House. It’s not too late to fill the jars of your favorite grade level!

BES 4K-3rd Grade End of the Year Forest Event on May 3rd. For more information, contact your child's homeroom teacher or Mrs. Bobula (Melissa.Bobula@gcj2.k12.wi.us)

The 5K classrooms went buggy last week!! They're learning all about insects, arachnids and myriapods in their reading unit. On Tuesday, April 23rd, the 5K classes walked to our middle school forest and went on a bug hunt. They used child spades, rakes and magnifying glasses to explore. They found ants, worms, bees, butterflies and even a big, huge slug!

See you all on Monday, Mustangs!! Have a great weekend!!! 💙

Congrats to the following students that won the Geneva Lakes Ice-On contest!! Way to make us #MustangProud Amos, Graham, and Reid!!
This contest was hosted by the Geneva Lake Environmental Agency.

Brookwood Families,
We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2024-2025 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school!
Forms for this program have been given to students to bring home. If you are in need of another copy, please contact your child’s front office to get another set.
The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and hassle-free bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days!
The end of the school year is fast approaching and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program. Thank you for your support!

This week, BMS hosted a group of future Physical Education teachers from Carthage College as they observed 7th and 8th grade classes. They will be back in the coming weeks to continue to learn and lead activities. We are so proud to be a school that colleges and universities turn to as a resource for examples of quality education.

The middle school’s lost and found table has been slowly dwindling….but there’s still a ton of items left. If you see something that’s yours or your child’s —- please claim it before May 3rd when all items will be donated!!

We are SO excited to announce that all 4K-7th graders will be going home with summer school booklets today!!
Classes are FREE for all students enrolled at Brookwood. ALL classes will be held at the middle school this summer. Students are registered on a first "received" basis -- due to popular demand and limited class sizes -- we enroll students as forms are turned into the offices. Forms should be turned into your child's homeroom teacher with the building they attend so they can get them submitted to the office in a timely and orderly fashion.
