Today our 8th graders were lucky enough to tour Badger High School in preparation for next year! We learned about everything Badger offers, both academically and extracurricularly, and there is something for everyone! Students left feeling excited for their next step & prepared with some ideas on the classes they plan to take.

2/4/22 1:36pm Brookwood Families, thank you for your patience today! Our internet and phone services are back up and running at both buildings.

Please help us welcome Emily Darnell to our Brookwood Family!! You’ll see Darnell working in our 4/5 wing with Mrs. Erickson and Mrs. Peters as a field study student at our middle school.
Darnell is currently attending Northern Illinois University to pursue a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a certification in ESL. She is passionate about not only teaching students but learning how to be the best teacher she can be. Darnell is thankful to have the opportunity to start her clinical experience at such an amazing school like Brookwood. She will also be going to Kenya and Tanzania this summer with a group from NIU to further her knowledge on multicultural education. In her free time, she likes to go thrift shopping, and has recently started to learn to sew. She’s also always trying to find ways to be more sustainable and kinder to the environment.
We are so happy to have Darnell as a part of our Brookwood Family!! Welcome!!

The school district started a new program just before the holidays called Neighbor to Neighbor. The purpose of the program is to connect family volunteers with others within their neighborhood who may be in need of assistance with snow removal, light household tasks, or local errands.
Families who are interested in volunteering can sign up with the school district by contacting Lisa Thompson at 262-279-1053 or emailing her at lisa.boden@gcj2.k12.wi.us.
The district is working on collecting volunteers, and then will be reaching out to the community to find residents who are in need of assistance.

Are you ready for Tuesday’s BFO Meeting at BES? We are excited to announce that we will be offering FREE childcare at our monthly BFO Meetings!!! Children attending our free childcare must be 18 months or older. Thank you to the 8th grade leadership students for helping our families come together to help us plan, organize, and coordinate events for our schools.

We had a great first session of Saturday Morning Basketball! Thanks to all the families who came out & a special shout-out to the 8th grade assistants!

During this very cold week, students in Mrs. Bullock's music classes got their wiggles out indoors while working on their fine motor skills to music. Kindergarteners and first graders went "ice skating".

Students in Mrs. Garrett's 7th/8th grade Photography class elective have been learning the basics of photography these past two weeks through a series of photography challenges. Pictured here are students working on a monochromatic flat lay challenge. Students had to group together objects of one color to create an interesting composition that would be photographed from above. Also pictured are photos from their first challenge - The Close Up.
