From March 1st-4th, we celebrate Read Across America which is a nation-wide celebration of reading and Brookwood Schools are excited to participate with our families once again this year! We have two exciting events planned to help motivate our students to read and discover the wonderful world of books.
First up is our Reading Challenge Bingo for our 4K-5th graders. Students are encouraged to read their favorite books in fun and silly ways.
At the middle school, they are celebrating by having a door decorating contest by following the theme: Reading Takes You Places!
District wide we are excited to celebrate Read Across America with some fun dress-up days!

Get ready Brookwood Elementary! Our Kids Heart Challenge kick-off will be happening in March! During the kick-off event, students will get to learn about all of the new Heart Heroes and their messages. We’re excited to learn about heart health and emotional well-being while having FUN and SAVING LIVES.
Important Dates:
March 2nd & 3rd: Kick-Off Event- During your student’s scheduled P.E. class.
March 16th & 17th: Black Light Jump Rope Event- During your student’s scheduled P.E. class.
March 19th: All Fundraising is due!

Our Family Engagement Team is excited to share with our Brookwood Families and our community members a digital read aloud series where our team and staff members will be reading books aloud to you and your families while sharing effective reading strategies and activities for you to engage in at home with not only our books we are sharing with you but also your own personal books, books from our local library, our school libraries, or even books bought from the store.
