Last year, our BMS Physical Education department was fortunate to win a $1,000 grant, and the money was spent on Table Tennis equipment. This was the first time our 7th and 8th graders had the opportunity to play Table Tennis at Brookwood, and we had a blast! It is such a fun sport, that can be played throughout a lifetime. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

During our BES P.E. classes, our K-3rd graders have been working on rolling, throwing, and catching skills both virtually and in person. They have been experimenting with different implements and targets. So far, the pool noodle has been the implement of choice. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

On Election Day, Brookwood's seventh graders made their voice heard. In math class, students voted for the US President, a local State Representative, and a local school referendum. Amazing discussions took place, and the students truly enjoyed the experience. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

The Spanish 2 students at BMS have been learning about Day of the Dead. After writing in Spanish about what they would have on their "ofrenda" and reading about an experience a tourist had while visiting Mexico during the Day of the Dead, the students decorated cookies like calaveras or skulls. #BeBrookwood #BrookwoodsBest

The 4th and 5th graders took part in a virtual field trip on Wednesday visiting the National Weather Station! Tim Halbach, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at National Weather Service-Milwaukee, walked the students through how they predict the weather for Southeastern Wisconsin. He showed the students multiple tools including a weather balloon and the doppler radar. Both in person and virtual students were able to ask questions about his job and how he predicts the weather. This week, the students at BES enjoyed playing the Boomwhackers. They learned that long Boomwhackers sound lower than short ones. They learned how to play and care for the instruments properly and worked as a group to create a song.
